Absentee Ballot Update

For those who have not received your absentee ballot yet, there were over 700 requests received before ballots were delivered to the Town Clerk.  As soon as the ballots were delivered on September 25th the Town Clerk began to mail them out.  The last of the ballots from the initial 700+ requests were mailed out on Monday, October 5th.   Mailing of the ballots was done in alphabetical order, so it your last name is toward the end of the alphabet you may not have received yours yet, but should soon.  Keep checking your mailbox.

Absentee ballot requests received from this point forward are processed as they are received.

Where your absentee ballot is in the process is reported on the Secretary of State’s (SoS) website at https://app.sos.nh.gov/Public/AbsenteeBallot.aspx
The site reports the following information about your absentee:
Ballot Requested – Upon receipt of your absentee ballot request the Town Clerk enters the date of receipt into the State’s system.
Ballot Mailed – The date the Town Clerk mailed your ballot.
Envelope Returned – the date your absentee ballot was received and entered into the system by the Town Clerk.  Please note, the Town Clerk is prioritizing absentee ballot processing tasks.  Priority #1 is mailing out absentee ballots to those who have requested them.  Priority #2 is entering receipt of ballots into the State’s system.  Additionally, the Secretary of State’s website is not updated in real time.  Please allow 24-48 hours from the Town Clerk’s receipt of your ballot until the time the status is updated on the Secretary of State’s website.

Due to the amount of work the Town Clerk must do to process absentee ballots – from request to receipt – we ask that you first try to find the status of your ballot on the SoS website.  If you have questions and the information is not available on the SoS website, please contact the Town Clerk at townclerk@enfield.nh.us or 603-632-5001.
