Supporting Health and Wellbeing During COVID-19
Joint Statement on Using Parks and Open Space While Maintaining Social Distancing
Joint Statement on Using Parks and Open Space While Maintaining Social Distancing (3/18/20)

In our ongoing effort to encourage our community members to stay active during this time we have been researching different workout and fitness opportunities that are being offered online - many of them for free!  We are posting the information on the Enfield Parks & Recreation page and also posting this information to the Mascoma Valley Parks & Recreation Facebook page.

For folks who are comfortable going outdoors and who have not been told to stay home by their doctor, we also want to encourage you to get outside, when the weather permits, to walk, run, bike or hike.  Many parks, trails and open spaces can continue to be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits these spaces provide. In all instances, we recommend you follow local, state and national ordinances and guidelines regarding the use of these spaces and recognize that these vary from community to community.  Please note, Huse Park Playground is currently closed - this includes the playground structures and swings.

Physical activity is crucial to long term health for everyone!  Give some of the below suggestions a try and share with us any resources you might have for staying active.

Yoga Classes - check out our Virtual Yoga Facebook Event for more information!  We have posted links to a variety of online classes, some offered via YouTube, Facebook Live, Zoom, etc.  We've tried to provided a variety of classes from beginner to advanced so our community members can continue their yoga practice at home.

Fitness ClassesPlanet Fitness is offering FREE at-home workouts at 7pm everyday - tune into Facebook Live at 7pm to take advantage of this opportunity!

Meditations - Mighty Yoga NH is offereing free meditations led by their class instructors everyday at 8am through Facebook Live.

Running/Walking - Looking for extra motivation to go for a walk or a run? Consider joining our Virtual Race Group on Facebook.  We're sharing information about some fun virtual race events and looking for folks to log some miles and (virtually) make it from the east side of Grafton all the way to the west side of Enfield - and back - on the Northern Rail Trail.  This is about 37.5 miles!  You can run or walk outside or on a treadmill.  We are also encouraging group members to share their running and walking accomplishments to help motivate others to walk or run.

Our goal is to provide resources and tools to help keep you moving, eating healthy, and focusing on mental health and wellbeing in order to prevent all forms of illness.  We want our community members safe and healthy during this time.

Stay active, stay safe and stay healthy!
