Recreation

Enfield’s geography provides ample opportunities to provide recreational activities year-round, and there’s a general sense that recreational opportunities for people of all ages has improved in the past few years and is in good shape. This has been due in part to having a recreation director focus on Enfield activities and to having Enfield involved as part of a regional recreation effort.

Over the next five years, Recreation plans to:

  • Increase the age range of residents served (grades K-6 and 7-9, adults (including elders);
  • Increase number of passive and active recreation programs offered for individuals and families,
  • Increase attendance and participation at recreation programs,
  • Ensure the self-sufficiency of recreation programming by maintaining financial sustainability (through better collaboration with district efforts).

A strong recreation program will continue to build a sense of community and might also be one of a multi-pronged effort to attract new visitors/residents to the town.
