Mission

To provide the highest quality service to the residents of Enfield by maintaining a safe, equitable, and environmentally friendly infrastructure.

Duties

The Enfield Public Works Department consists of four divisions including highways, solid waste and recycling, water and sewer and buildings and grounds.  The Highway Division is responsible for summer and winter maintenance of the roughly 66 miles of Enfield streets and roads.  Summer maintenance includes paving, grading, ditching, mowing, bridges and sign.  Winter maintenance involves plowing and treating roads along with the thawing of frozen drainage systems.  The Solid Waste and Recycling Division oversees the curbside collection and disposal of trash and the curbside collection and recycling of curbside Zero Sort program both through the contractor Casella.  The Water and Sewer Division maintains a water distribution system that serves 484 connections in the Enfield Village section of Town and also maintains a sewer collection system that services 610 connections and pipes wastewater to the Lebanon Wastewater Treatment Facility.  The Buildings and Grounds Division is responsible for mowing and maintaining parks and cemeteries in the summer and work with the Highway Division in the winter primarily on plowing and treating sidewalks and parking lots.  They also perform minor maintenance on town buildings year round.
