The very first Library Report appeared in the 1896 Town Report. In it, the Commissioners write; “There are at present 502 volumes in the library. Larger accommodations will soon be needed, for the library has outgrown its present room.”
As of today, the library is facing the same situation. While we currently enjoy access to thousands of books and other materials, we have run out of room for our most important resource: people! With a new space we could increase programming for children and adults while also serving as a community gathering space. Click here to go the the Enfield Public Library page and select the Campaign for New Building tab. Here you'll find documents relating to the new building project.
Please consider making a donation. Any questions can be directed to the Town Librarian.
