Online Services & Municipal Operations

In response to the recent Town Hall closure due to COVID-19, the following is a list of town services that can be performed without leaving home. This list will continue to be updated on a regular basis as new services are made available.  We thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this challenging time. 

TOWN HALL MAILING ADDRESS: Should you need mail anything to Town Hall, the address is as follows:  Town of Enfield, PO Box 373, Enfield, NH 03748

DROP BOX:  At the public entrance to Town Hall there is a secure, brown drop box where you may drop off checks (NO CASH) or other paperwork. Should your paperwork not fit, please refer to the list of contacts below to make alternative arrangements.

IN PERSON TRANSACTIONS are limited to those which are required to be done in person, which includes, but is not limited to new motor vehicle registrations (renewals can be done online or by mail) and marriage certificates.  If you come to the Town Office for an in person transaction you must press the intercom buzzer, located to the left of the door, to speak to someone in our office who can then remotely unlock the door for you to enter the building.  We ask that you not let in other individuals when the door is unlocked for you as the number of individuals allowed in the building at any one time is limited.

  • Assessing Forms (Exemptions, Tax Credits, Current Use and more)  Filing for and renewals of Exemptions and Credits can be sent by mail or dropped off in the drop box
  • Tax Maps
  • Property Record & GIS maps  Some documents, including septic plans, building permits and sales data are not available online but most documents can be scanned and emailed.

Applications will be accepted via email, mail or drop box outside Town Hall. Payments are to be made by check only. Should you need to drop off plans or applications which will not fit in the drop box, please call.

  • Apply for Building Permit 
  • Make an Inspection Request  As long as construction proceeds, inspections will continue. 
  • Building Plan Reviews accepted via email, mail or drop box outside Town Hall. If necessary, we will meet individuals by appointment only to go over plan questions

Burn Permits
Contact the Forest Fire Warden, David Crate, at 603-252-0386, or the Fire Chief, Fred Cummings, at 603-359-5206 or fcummings@enfield.nh.us. We would also like to convey that the Fire Chief is attempting to enable burn permits to be obtained online. UPDATE (May 21, 2020):  The Town Clerk’s Office will be reinstating office hours on Wednesdays beginning May 27, 2020.  The Office is still closed to the public.  
Registration and title transfers of newly purchased vehicles:  The Town Clerk is accepting paperwork by email to townclerk@enfield.nh.us.  All of your contact information is required.  If the Town Clerk or Deputy Town Clerk have any questions or need additional information they will contact you.  Once your registration is completed you will be contacted to drop off payment.  Payment will be required on the same day as the registration is completed.  

If you do not have access to email you may call 603-632-5001 and leave a message.  

We regret that due to the challenges of processing registrations during this time we must prioritize the processing of registrations so there is the possibility that your registration will not be able to be completed on the day it is submitted.  We appreciate your patience during these difficult times.

During this time the Transfer Station will remain open, but we ask people to use curbside rubbish and recycling collection if at all possible.  Not only does this limit personal contact, but saves tax dollars. If you have the ability to retain your recyclables until the situation abates and recycle them later, it would be appreciated. Additionally, please use discretion discarding bulky waste at the Transfer Station and wait to discard items requiring a disposal fee, such as televisions or propane tanks, until the situation abates. 

  • Enfield Transfer Station  Punch Cards ($25) for items requiring a fee & Lebanon Landfill Punch Cards ($15) for disposal of items at the Lebanon Landfill:  Payment can be mailed or left in the drop box outside the Town Offices.  Please include your name and mailing address and punch cards will be put in the mail at the end of the same business day.
