Re: Town Manager Search Update
April 25, 2017
On Friday, the selection committee appointed by the Selectboard interviewed several semi-finalists. They narrowed the pool to three.
Yesterday, the Board interviewed the three finalists. At the end of the interviews, the Board discussed the candidates with Alan Gould from MRI. MRI has been the firm leading the search. At the conclusion of the discussion, the Board voted unanimously to have MRI give a conditional offer to one of the candidates. The candidate has accepted the conditional offer.
At this point, a background investigation will begin. Once that has been completed and deemed satisfactory, a contract will be negotiated with the candidate. Once both of these are completed, we will negotiate a start date.
We will not be releasing the name of the candidate until they have successfully passed the background and we have negotiated a contract and start date, so as to not jeopardize their current employment in case some part doesn't work out, though we don't expect there will be any issues. The candidate is very enthusiastic and we feel they will be the best suited to serve as Enfield's new Town Manager.
The Board would like to thank the selection committee for all of their work. They included: Dominic Albanese, Shirley Green, Bob Cusick, Sam Eaton, Jean Patten, Lee Carrier and Melissa Huston. They did great work and put three very strong candidates forward to choose from. The Town is very lucky to have dedicated people such as these to assure the Town moves forward with great leadership. They put in a lot of time to make sure we got great candidates, and the Board thanks them.
Please direct any questions to the Board Chairman.
