Town Managerís Update - May 31, 2013
Greetings,

Next week, pending weather, of course, paving will occur on Rt. 4.  Paving will start early, with equipment moving in around 6:30am, and ending close to 7pm.  Those expecting to travel on Rt. 4 on June 4th should plan on adding some time to their trip.  Our PD will be enforcing the detour for all thru-traffic, those that have a need to travel on Rt. 4 will be allowed, but should expect a delay.  As I have stated before, in the morning, traffic moving westbound will have the preference and in the afternoon, traffic moving eastbound will have the preference.  This is the last major piece of our Rt. 4 Water/Sewer extension project.  The contractor will still be active for most of June putting the finishing touches on our project.  When we have final financials related to the project, I will publish them on our website.  So far we are projected to be approximately $50,000 under the $3.2 million that was approved.

SAVE THE DATE!  OLD HOME DAYS RETURN TO ENFIELD

The New Hampshire tradition of old home days, begun in the late 19th century, will once again be celebrated in Enfield!  Save the dates of July 26, 27, and 28 for some old fashioned fun and a time to reconnect with neighbors and friends. The festivities will kick off with a band concert in Huse Park (rain location will be Enfield Village School).  Main Street will be the center of Saturday’s daytime activities with the farmers’ market, library open house and ice cream social, scavenger hunt, and a tour of the Greeley House (red house on the corner of Main Street & Shaker Hill Road), currently undergoing restoration. The Stone Mill at Enfield Shaker Museum on Saturday evening will be the place to be with a dance for all ages. An old fashioned field day and hike up Shaker Mountain will top off the fun filled weekend on Sunday.   We hope this will become an annual event.  If you have a suggestion or would like to help in any way, please contact Meredith Smith at meredithsmith22@comcast.net. Hope to see you in July at Old Home Days!  Meredith Smith Chair, Enfield Heritage Commission
