Private Eyes, the comic relationship thriller by Steven Dietz, opens this Friday, January 27th!

Steven Dietz is one of the most produced playwrights in this country. Shakespeare is (of course) first on the list, but Dietz is tied for eighth (with Edward Albee and Tennessee Williams).

Steven Dietz calls this 1996 drama a "comedy of suspicion" in which nothing is ever quite what it seems. Matthew's wife, Lisa, is having an affair with Adrian, a British theatre director. Or perhaps the affair is part of the play being rehearsed. Or perhaps Matthew has imagined all of it simply to have something to report to Dr. Frank, his therapist.
The audience itself plays the role of detective in this hilarious "relationship thriller."

Join us for a highly entertaining evening at Shaker Bridge Theatre. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm. Call for reservations at 603.448.3750 or email for a reservation at www.shakerbridgetheatre.org.

Regrets Only by Paul Rudnick

Hank Hadley, a famous fashion designer whose lover of many years has recently died, is called on by his oldest friend Tibby, an upper east side socialite, to design a wedding dress for her daughter. But Tibby’s husband and daughter are off to Washington at the behest of President Bush to help draft a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. An absolutely hilarious play that revolves around what defines marriage and friendship.

Private Eyes by Steven Dietz

A comedy of suspicion in which nothing is ever quite what it seems. Matthew’s wife, Lisa, is having an affair with Adrian, a British theatre director. Or perhaps the affair is part of the play being rehearsed. Or perhaps Matthew has imagined all of it simply to have something to report to his therapist. And finally, there is Cory - the mysterious woman who seems to shadow the others - who brings the story to its surprising conclusion. Or does she? The audience itself plays the role of detective in this hilarious “relationship thriller.”

Dietz’s spiraling structure and breathless pacing provide enough of an oxygen rush to revive any moribund audience member. . . . his mastery of playmaking is cause for kudos. - The Village Voice

May 4 - 20
Dusk Rings A Bell by Stephen Belber

Molly and Ray unexpectedly meet 25 years after an adolescent fling. She has a successful media career, he owns a small landscaping business. Both begin to romanticize their chance reunion, but a renewed connection is disrupted when details of the intervening years are disclosed. Their encounter reveals two vastly different paths taken and two lonely souls attempting to reclaim a moment of possibility when they were young and perhaps at their very best.

Belber’s small, ravishing play unfolds like an eloquent short story. In nimble strokes, Belber captures the uncanny way a chance encounter can reverberate through time. - The New Yorker

An Email Discussion Forum for Enfield

Hi Everyone!

I have worked with Dartmouth College and as of today, was able to get the Enfield Listserv up and running. I am hoping you can help me test drive this electronic communication system and invite more Enfield residents, town offices, school offices and businesses to join in.

What is an Enfield Listserv and why is it important to you? At the bottom of this email is a link to the Enfield Listserv Netiquette which explains what this tool is about, how to use it, who is eligible and what the rules are. Hopefully, this tool will end up being more than just an Enfield "Craig's List" and that there will be significant discussion on politics, town budget, assessment and the like. It will be good to know about road conditions this winter and school closings, etc. as well.

FIRST - HOW TO JOIN?
You may subscribe to the listserv by sending an email to listserv@dartmouth.edu with ONLY the contents:
SUB ENFIELD your name in the body of the email. Do not include any signature blocks in the body of the email. You can leave the subject line of the email blank as this has no significance in the subscription process.

Example: SUB ENFIELD Kim Furlong

I'm hoping to be able to send you a return email that you have been approved. This may take a day or two to occur.

SECOND - HOW TO SEND EMAILS TO THE ENFIELD LISTSERV?
Send an email to: Enfield@listserv.dartmouth.edu from the email address you used to obtain the subscription.

I hope this tool works as planned in uniting the community or at least furthering the communications electronically. With any luck, you all find it useful. Enjoy!

Regards,
Kim Furlong
Enfield Resident Since 1994
